The world became a brighter place on December 27, 1952 when Linda Louise (Sams) Collins was born in Port Huron, Michigan. She was a daughter, wife, mother, aunt, sister and friend to many; and now a guardian angel to us all. What a blessing we had for many years to have an angel walking among us. She passed peacefully at home in Marysville on October 11, 2016 with her husband and daughter present after her courageous 2 year battle with brain cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Collins; daughter, Sarah Collins; mother, Mayme Sams; brother, Paul Sams; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, David and Nancy Collins; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Diane and Bill Wattson; niece, Jennifer & Eric Heiss and their children, Anna, Ben & Greta; nephew, Jeremiah & Rachel Collins and their son, Charlie; and countless wonderful friends. She joins her father, William Sams, in heaven who passed away on October 13, 2006.

Linda was someone you always wanted to be around; her positive energy was contagious. She was the first person you wanted to share your good news with or grieve with in times of sorrow. She was a creative soul who could make something beautiful out of nothing. She had a way about her to connect with people and make everyone feel important. She could strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger that would leave a lasting positive impression. We have lost an important branch of our family tree but the angels above are singing as she certainly earned her wings to join their ranks.

Visitation to celebrate her life will be on Thursday, October 13 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and 7:00 pm-9:00 pm at Marysville Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 14 at 11:00 am at Colonial Woods Missionary Church, Port Huron. Linda's brother-in-law, David Collins, will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Residential Hospice Foundation, 5440 Corporation Dr., Suite 400, Troy, MI 48098 (residentialhospicefoundation.org); or to the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave, Suite 550, Chicago, IL 60631 (abta.org).
